Musician & Innovator
Hi, I’m Tom van Weelden, a passionate musician with a rich and diverse background in music education and performance.
My journey began at the Podiumacademie, where I laid the foundation for my musical career.
I further honed my skills at the Vooropleiding Pop and Jazz at HKU, earned my MBO4 musician diploma from Deltion College in Zwolle, and followed the bachelor’s program at the ArtEZ Popacademie to deepen my understanding of music.
Throughout my studies, I explored a variety of musical styles, constantly pushing myself to grow as an artist. I was a member of a fusion band that achieved remarkable success, winning De Grote Prijs van Twente and the Publieksprijs van Amphion Open. Our music resonated with audiences, and we had the privilege of performing at multiple festivals.
Currently, together with Matthijs Jeuring, I’m focused on my latest project: Bitter Expo.
This innovative venture experiments with electronic add-ons, delving into the boundaries and possibilities of rhythm.
With Bitter Expo, I aim to challenge conventional musical structures and create fresh, captivating sounds.
